We switched over to BPOS Jan 2011. For the most part our organization has not had many issues expect our CEO uses a MAC. For about 4 months she has tried to use Office for Mac 2011 before the single sign-on was available. Once available they said it should solve most of the problems. It did for a little while then more issues started coming up.
Currently she is trying to use MAIL - mac's mail client to access BPOS Hosted Exchange 2007. I have read countless forums with people that have this issue solve it and tried those solutions to no success. I have hired outside IT people to come help with no success. We have an old network which is why we chose HOSTED Exchange through micrsoftonline services.
If any one has resolved any or all issues related to Mac's receiving email through BPOS on any mail client please post. Here are some of the issues we have had.
Office for Mac 2011
Would not stay connected received a number of error messages (Sorry do not have record of error messages)
Mac Mail
Could not find proper manual settings as autodiscovery would place a 10.XX.XX.XX ip address for the internal server. We would change it to red001.mail.microsoftonline.com and it would work for a day or so.
Then some settings in Firefox were locking out the account when trying to access the outlook web access. (testing may have fixed issue)
I need a solution that stays working if any one has any suggestions. Our BPOS account is up for renewal in November and we are either transitioning to Office 365 or not and leaving BPOS.
Thank you for any suggestions
