Have been told this should of have been posted here, and not in the Office forum on Microsoft Answers.....so here goes.
G'day all,
Have recently moved to Microsoft 365 services and use a mix of Outlook 2010 and 2007.
We have a Project Manager here that assigns tasks to each of us based on his master list of tasks.
What is not happening is the following:
1) Status updates do not register on the project managers task list, even though status updates are sent and read.
2) On the task completion by the operator, the project managers task is not updated at all unless the operator assigns the task back to the project manager or once the task is complete, declines the task. Then and only then does the task on the Project Managers
list update.
The steps are:
1) Project Manager creates and assigns the task to operator. Both the check boxes for maintain a copy on my task list and send status reports when completed are checked.
2) Task arrives at operators terminal, they accept the task. Task shows up in the default Task folder and stays in this location, it is not moved.
3) Operator increments the completion percentage based on where the task is at and sends a status report. Project Managers task does not update, but he receives and reads the status update list.
4) Operator masks task complete sending a status update. Project managers receives the completion update but task on the Project Mangers list does not reflect this.
5) Operator must then decline the completed task, or reassign the task back to the Project Manager before it shows as completed. This gives the control back to the Project manager, either directly or via the Return to Task list icon.
How can we fix this, from all the information I can see, this should work.
This happens 2007 -> 2010 and 2010 -> 2007.....
Help?
Cheers,
Ben
